The Virginia EMS Strategic Plan identifies key
initiatives that need to be
addressed over the next five
years in order to ensure the
emergency medical care
system in Virginia remains
effective and efficient. The
Strategic Plan will serve as
guide to direct the
resources and effort
necessary to maintain,
improve and enhance the EMS
delivery system in Virginia.
As part of a strategic
thinking and planning
process conducted by OEMS,
new initiatives and areas
needing improvement and
enhancement were identified.
The planning process did not
focus on areas where
performance is already at a
high level. This phase of
the planning process
establishes clarity of
vision and mission,
identifies core strategies
critical to new initiatives
and improvements, and
identifies key strategic
initiatives for each core
strategy.
Written Comments
The Virginia Office of EMS
will be accepting written
comments related to the
Virginia EMS Strategic Plan
until 5 PM on Friday,
January 6, 2006. Individuals
interested in commenting on
the Virginia EMS Strategic
Plan may submit their
written remarks On Line to
the Office of EMS or by
Email. When submitting
comments in writing, please
reference the Core Strategy
and Key Strategic Initiative
related to your remarks. In
addition, please be sure to
include the page number(s)
of the Virginia EMS
Strategic Plan that relate
to your comments.
Public Hearing
On Friday, January 20, 2006
at 10 AM, an additional
opportunity to provide
public comment on the
Virginia EMS Strategic Plan
will take place when the
Finance, Legislation and
Planning (F,L&P) committee
of the State EMS Advisory
Board meets at the Virginia
Association of Volunteer
Rescue Squad (VAVRS)
building in Oilville, VA.
Individuals who wish to
speak at the public meeting
should limit their comments
to five (5) minutes and
bring at least one copy of
their prepared, written
remarks to leave with the
F,L&P Committee.
Your comments and remarks
are important to validate
the plan and verify the key
strategies identified to
implement changes and
improvements to the
emergency medical care
system in Virginia. |
