From: Matt Lawler, Training Director
Re: Protocol Modifications

At the March Medical Control Review Committee meeting, the committee approved two protocol changes that are effective immediately.

1. Removed Metoprolol from the V-Fib/Pulseless V-Tach protocol and added verbiage about a Combitube airway in the airway management section of the protocol.

2. Added an allergy contraindication for Ipratropium Bromide (Atrovent).

For more information on the changes and updated protocol pages, visit the protocol page on our website at www.csems.vaems.org/protocols.

TRAINING REMINDER
The next Cardiac to Intermediate and Shock Trauma to Enhanced transition programs start on March 29, 2004. Space is still available. Take this opportunity to transition to the new level. For more information, visit www.csems.vaems.org/courses.

Drug Boxes: Some CT boxes are being stocked with Morphine and Diazepam Carpujects®.  Providers are advised to use caution when using these two drugs, assuring the correct drug is selected for administration.
